The new buzzword is "Outsourcing". That is where American companies send American jobs to other countries where they pay
non-Americans to do the jobs that Americans used to do because they do not have to pay American wages and American benefits.

In turn the company will then sell their products back to the unemployed Americans who will buy the product with their unemployment checks supported by the taxes they can no longer pay because they are unemployed and the taxes that are no longer being paid by the corporation that has moved its headquarters to Bermuda to avoid paying taxes.

Sounds like "bush league economics" to me.

It's political trip time again. Whenever the heat gets to be too much in the kitchen, Presidents take off on a political junket to change the subject, deflect criticism and display their "World Leader" skills. It seems to be that time.

The 911 Commission is hearing the Bush Administration botched the job. Condi Rice is now hiding out in Dick Cheney's hidden bunker. The stock market is falling. The government is out of money. Jobs are dropping in rates not seen since the Depression and those American jobs that are being created for the American Indians are for the Indians that never left India. The Humpety Dumpety called Iraq is starting to fall apart before we ever got it put together and everyone is shooting at everyone else in Israel, Afghanistan, Haiti and Kosovo. Oh, and there is an election in the Fall, the numbers don't look good and Sen. Kerry is calling them liars and screwups.

So the President has decided to go somewhere else to spread his message and impress the American people with his leadership skills. Someplace where there is no conflict. Somewhere that he believes will restore his reputation as a "uniter not a divider", someplace that is peaceful, calm and will welcome him with open arms. He has chosen to go to........ France?

Appears the Mars rover has concluded that there was an "ocean" on Mars at some point in time, that it was salt water and that it was at least two inches deep. It is gone now which will be a disapointment to the developers. All that beachfront property and no two inch ocean to frolic in.

Of course the real purpose of these trips is to find signs of life.
Few expect to find signs of intelligent life. After all, we Americans claim that prize exclusively for ourselves. Any other intelligent life would go there once, take a quick look, think they were in Texas and move on. We go there once, envision condos, plant the flag and return each year for Spring Break. That's intelligence. Our President says so.

Well the latest word is the government under the Nixon Administration spied on Senator Kerry back in the 70's. 'Course he wasn't a senator then, just a Vietnam Vet opposed to the war in Vietnam. They concluded he was not a threat to the nation.

As far as we know, the government under the Nixon Administration did not spy on President Bush in the 70's. 'Course he wasn't president then, just a Texas Air National Guard Vet posted undercover to Alabama so he could work on a political campaign opposed to the Democrats. He wasn't important enough to be a threat to the nation.

Now Bush and Kerry are both after the highest job in the government and each is saying the other is a threat to the nation.

Which just goes to show that you should not rely on the government to recognize the truth.

The government fire sale has started. If you've ever sent a nickel to a candidate, registered to vote, voted, worked for a candidate or aren't dead and buried you've probably already gotten the calls, mailers and solicitations to send money to the candidate of your choice. What do you get in return for these contributions? A guarantee..... to get more phone calls, mailers and solicitations.

You also get to purchase a chance to influence who is going to spend the rest of your money for you and how they are going to spend it. If you send enough money you may even get them to spend it on you or someone you like.

Invest in your future. Buy an election. It's good for the economy.

Channel surfing. I see on C-SPAN where Congress passed a vote declaring that the President has made the world safer. Meanwhile on CNN I'm looking at an 18 foot crater where a hotel used to be in downtown Baghdad. Then there's the video of what used to be Spanish trains on MSNBC. And over on Fox News we have gunfights, suicide bombers and rocket fire in the streets of Gaza City .
I guess what you see depends on where you sit, but I'm sure the rest of the world appreciates our Congress declaring their safety courtesy of our President. And that is why they will all be declaring their endorsement of President Bush for reelection...........next December.

Reverend Al Sharpton has dropped out of the Democratic race for President. That's not surprising seeing as how it was over weeks ago. Some think he should never have gotten into it in the first place and others will miss him and no one ever thought he had a chance anyway.

If nothing else he brought some entertainment to the process with his one liners and gave more than one of us some reasons to pause and reflect and perhaps that is what it should be about anyway. Unfortunately next will come the career change to public speaker/entertainer which may be what it was about to begin with. If you want paid advertising for your product one sure way is to pop your name up for President and then brace yourself for the news stampede. More than one person has got where they were going by marching in a parade they didn't need to be in.

Seems NASA has discovered another planet. It is something like a gazillion miles beyond that other sort-of a planet Pluto, only punier. They are going to call it Sedna which is the name of some Eskimo sea goddess. Seems appropriate since they both occupy the outer regions where no one with a non-frozen mind cares to venture.

I"m told in astronomy circles this is big news but for the rest of us, we can presume that the Sednans aren't coming here right away and we aren't going there at least until after we invade Mars so I guess for now all it's good for is Trivial Pursuit and more NASA funding.

The campaign wars have started already and we haven't even had conventions yet. Senator Kerry made some unflattering off the cuff and what he mistakenly presumed were off camera remarks about the integrity of Republicans in the administration yesterday. Administration Republicans want a public apology.

I think they should get one...........just as soon as Mr. & Mrs. McCain get one for what was done to them by the same people in South Carolina four years ago.....and you might want to throw in an apology from the President and VP Cheney to the reporter they insulted off mike a couple years ago. What goes around comes around and whining because someone took a page out of your playbook and used it on you isn't going to generate sympathy but it will bring back old best forgotten memories.

I see on the news where the Republicans are already running an ad against John Kerry accusing him of having money. I suspect they are using some of the President's $100 million plus campaign fund dollars to tell us the truth about Kerry's money, which is that he has some.

Next week we'll see their pro-Bush ads showing where Humble George was raised in a log cabin in Kennebunkport, sold the "Grit" newspaper door to door as a youngster to help support his family along with pictures of Lt. George in uniform defending Alabama from Vietnamese invasion. This new "Reality TV" show's going to have about an 8 month run so stay tuned. Next week's episode: George strikes oil out behind the outhouse".
