The Republican are debating.....again.  They're now over half a dozen debates and just at the beginning.  Between now and election there is a Super Bowl, a dozen national holidays and two World Series.  And the more they debate the nuttier they get.

Mr. Cain has already lost 90 points by going from a 999 economic program to a 909 program.  Rick Perry can't talk without swallowing his tongue.  Michelle Bachman needs to read a 9th grade history book and Mitt Romney still thinks corporations are people.

If they can flush a toilet they're a people.  If they can't they're either a dog or a corporation.  Not that hard to figure out Mitt.

Only in America.  The drama continues in Washington.  House Speaker Boehner finally passes a resolution that is DOA in the Senate and White House and he knew that up front.  Next the House is going to vote down a psuedo Harry Reid Bill in the House before the Senate even votes on it just so the House won't cast the last "No" vote before the President should invoke the 14th Amendment.

Meanwhile the rest of the world (literally) thinks our Congress has taken leave of their senses.  This all boils down to about 80 Tea Party Congressmen who are holding the country and the world hostage.  Why? Because they can.

Take them out of the equation and we wouldn't have been talking about any of this.  Which also gives us the solution on how to avoid this problem in the future.  Unfortunately we have to wait 15 months for an election.

Watched Speaker Boehner on tv last nite.  He explained how not increasing taxes would free up more money for business which would create more jobs.  He also explained that cutting the budget would create more jobs.  He did not explain how this works.

The Bush Tax cut did create more jobs.....In China, but It threw our economy into decline in the process.  Outcome:= fewer US  jobs.

If you take money away from the government, it has less money to hire the people that do government jobs or privately contract with the government.  If they don’t get paid, they don’t work. Outcome =  fewer US  jobs.

I think I’m beginning to understand the problem and it is worse than I thought.  Republicans can’t do math.

The saga continues.

Speaker Boehner is no longer available for calls from the President of the United States and the debt ceiling limit delimma has lost another day.

Republicans want no revenue increases period.  Considering that between 2001 and 2008 they controlled the Presidency, the Senate, the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court and a better than fair share of the state houses and governorships their position is a bit hypocritical.

Having given the Bush Tax Cut for all of those years to produce fewer jobs than when they started, having extended social programs like Bush's Medicare Prescription Program without raising the revenues to pay for it, having fought two unfinished wars financed on a non-existing Master Card and having driven the economy from a deficit reducing surplus under Bill Clinton to a staggering national deficit and borderline Depression at the end of the eight Bush years I'm not sure these are the guys you want to solve your problems.

It's a lot like having the Vandals that set your house on fire showing up with a gasoline truck and telling you they are the fire department come to save your house.

Is this any way to run a country?

The big issue these days is the debt ceiling limit.

Democrats want to raise it and not risk default.  Translation: Default - Bills to be paid with no money allocated to pay them.

Republicans want to risk default in order to limit government spending.  Translation:  Default - Cut the size of government dramatically which will free up cash to fuel private enterprise.

I've got to go with the Democrats here.

With the Republicans , if your government policy is to let the government fall apart financially in order to advance a policy that will strip that same government of its ability to function financially you have essentially declared war on yourself and ....... you're broke.

At least with the Democrats you just might not be broke, but if you are you can always burn your money to stay warm

President Mubarak of Egypt spoke to his country yesterday.  He told them that for the good of the country he would not run for president again.  That was good to hear.  He also explained that for the good of the country he would like his supporters to show up on the streets of Cairo tomorrow and convince the protestors of the error of their ways.

Today,  "the good of the country convincing" has started .  The dead, busted and wounded can testify as to how much better off the country is today than yesterday.

Much more of this good of the country business and there won't be a country left to be good for.

Public officials and people being shot in Arizona.

Well, it was bound to happen.  When you give crazy people an excuse, reason or approval to be crazy you should not be surprised when they fullfill your expectations by following your lead.

It is one thing to disagree.  It is something else entirely to decide you are right, I am wrong and that justifies your right to execute me and anyone who happens to be in my company.  When like Sarah Palin and company you put crosshairs on political candidates, create ads with thinly veiled urgings to take action and remove someone from office and desseminate it to the sane and insane alike you should bear a responsibility for the result.

Michelle Bachman, the conservative congresswoman from Minnesota is thinking about running for President.  That will give us her and Sarah for entertainment for the next two years.  Sarah can see Russia from Alaska but Michelle can see Canada, Wisconsin, the Dakotas and Lake Wobegon from Minnesota, to name just a few.

Before that we'll probably have to suffer through "Michelle Bachman's Minnesota", "Michelle Bachman Dancing with the Stars" and Michelle Bachman gutting a deer or a Democrat, depending on the season.

Osama Bin Laden.  Remember him?  He was the tall fellow who started all the problems, then took a vacation.  It's coming up on 10 years and they still haven't found him, but the government says he's still out there, just don't know where.

He's like the boogeyman.  He could be anywhere, even if nobody's ever seen him.

Personally, I'm not sure he's out there at all, but not finding him serves everybody's agenda.  For the Americans, he keeps the American money flowing for national security.  For Pakistan, he keeps the American money flowing for national security. For Afghanistan.......you get the picture.

If we find him, dead or alive, he serves no purpose other than a good celebration party and a hangover the next day.

I suspect in 2057 we'll still be saying, he's out there.  Stay vigilant.  Keep spending.

President Obama formed a commission about a year ago to figure out how to solve the looming deficit problem.  They were to report back conveniently right after last weeks election.  The preliminary word is out.  We're broke.  Surprised?

Seems we've accrued an additional 4 trillion dollars in debt over the last ten years.  Coincidentally, that's the same amount that was given back to us (at least the wealthier us) from the  Bush tax cut over the past decade.  Surprise II.

The commission is going to recommend a number of cost saving cuts and tax changes that no one will like or pass into legislation.  Surprise III.

The next commission will report back in 2020.  We'll be broker then.  No surprise there.
