Checked the news this morning to see what Governor Christie did wrong today.  So far we don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's something even if we don't know it.  I see where he called his Democrat buddy across the river, Governor Cuomo, for advice.

Well, come to think of it, now we do know what he's done wrong today.

It would be like Target asking Walmart what to do when their credit card info was recently hacked.

Just when he thought the spectre of "Bridgegate" was behind him NJ Gov. Christie has put himself in front of another truck.........again.

This time it's "commercial gate".  Seems he used Federal money for storm relief from tropical storm Sandy to make tv commercials for the Jersey Shore featuring............himself and his family.  Says it was for the economy which makes it a recovery issue.   Bit of a stretch considering it was in an election year.  What made it worse was he paid twice the going rate.  I'm sure his argument is they had a lot more to cover.

I won't say he's broke the law, but he hasn't done it any favors and his attitude hasn't won him any friends, which is what he could use right now.

NJ Governor Chris Christie has gotten himself into trouble..... again.  He seems to be a lightning rod for controversy.  After spending his first term deliberately creating an "in your face" go to hell image he seemed shocked that one of his aides used her authority to shut down a NJ bridge and create a traffic jam as part of a political retribution against a city mayor.

He spent two hours yesterday telling the media he is not a bully.  The media are spending their time showing news clips of his telling constituents where they can go for the past four years.

Republicans don't like him because he is too cozy with Democrats. Democrats don't like him because of his attitude.

The rest don't like him because he's from New Joisey.

The jury has spoken in the Travon Martin/ George Zimmerman murder case in Florida.  This one is right up there with Casey Anthony and her dead child.  Another not guilty.  Seems Florida is not the healthiest of places, at least not for young people of any age.

I can't fathom what goes through jurors minds in the state of Florida but it surely isn't looking out for their society's own best interests.  Every nut with a handgun and an agenda has just got a "get out of jail" card to fix the world on their own terms.  Apparently in Florida a fistfight justifies pulling a gun and shooting an unarmed fellow human being.  In Florida, "Neighborhood Watch" does more than watch, it stalks.  In Florida vigilante justice is the unwritten law of the state.

If anyone thinks they are safer because of this verdict I can only remind you that "Wyatt" Zimmerman is back, he can still have his job and he still has his gun.  And now he has "friends" who think the same way and they all have guns and they all are in fear for their own safety.  Just ask them.

 My advice: Leave.

The news isn't good.  Then again when is it.  Good news sells like a ten year old newspaper.

About the only good news that sells is when someone hits the lottery, and really, that's bad news if it isn't you.

It's really the plan of the newspapers to print bad news.  No one is interested in Mrs. Dogbones visit for tea with Mrs. Tinkertoes' until you add rat poison to the tea.  If Mr. Tinkertoes ends up with Mrs. Dogbones because Mrs. Tinkertoes is defunct you have a mini-series.  Add money and you have a novelette.  Add sex and it's a primetime movie.

The badder the characters, the better the bottom line.

I see where the government wants to prosecute this Snowden fellow for leaking info from the National Security Agency that the agency has been spying on us illegally.  President says it's not so.  He got it right from the NSA.

This raises the question.  If someone leaks info that indicts the government does the government get a free pass by indicting the leaker.  Do we have a right to know what our government is doing .........in our name ..........with our money ........to us?  OR ....are we safer not knowing in the interest of national security?

According to the government there is NO Evidence of UFO's either and the 60 percent of the population who thinks otherwise has been hallucinating for the past 60 years or so....in the interest of national security........including all the presidents.  Believe it....or else......

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said," no one dare sleep when the legislature is in session".  If he didn't say it, he would have if he'd thought of it.

At the end of this week our New York State legislature, which last time I checked was the highest paid full time legislature in the country, will finish their part time job and quit for the summer.  Having run out of damage to do they will retire to their estates to campaign full time against anyone with the audacity to run for their office.

For any of you that think they might stay on in the public interest if they didn't finish their wish list, you will get better odds on Dick Nixon for President in 2016.

By now most of us have heard about the explosion in the number of 20 foot long Burmese pythons roaming around southern Florida.  Now comes the Giant African Snail, a baseball sized snail that carries a form of meningitis and is turning up by the thousands in yards in southern Florida.

Neither has a common enemy which is why they proliferate.  In a perfect world the snake would swallow the snail, catch meningitis and die, but as we all know it ain't a perfect world.

In the end it will be taken care of in the political world where the legislature will pass a law banning both species and declare the problem solved and we can all pretend it doesn't exist.  Not perfect but likely.

Dear Barry

I've noticed of late that the President appears to be getting into more trouble and his poll numbers are starting down again.  It's no wonder, but part of the problem is image.

Having figured out pretty much what is wrong with the world, how to fix it and leaving the bulk of it to chance I suspect it is time to start bailing the President out, so on Saturday's I'll start giving advice directly to his honor personally under the "Dear Barry" heading.  And the thing we are going to start with is the first name, Barack.  I'm sure it's a fine name even if it is one we are not used to hearing, but......

it don't sound good.  Fact is, it reminds me of the sound my cat makes when he's coughing up a furball.  So I'm Americanizing it to Barry.  While we are at it we're going to add one of those glitchy things to the last name too  Make it O' Bama.  Lo and behold he's an Irishman with a good tan.  Next Saturday:  What to do with Congress.

There is quite a delimma shaping up in Syria.  According to the White House, Syria has crossed a line drawn by the President regarding the use of chemical weapons against Syrian rebels and therefore we are going to supply the rebels with weapons to help overthrow the Syrian government.

Russia, who supports the government says the claims of chemical weapons usage are not true.

The rebels, who are partly made up of al Queda supporters (remember 911), claim without support the government will win.

This is one of those cases of "my enemies enemy is my friend.......even though my new friend is (sort of) still my enemy and my former friend is now (sort of ) my enemy...........at least until next week.

Hopefully, some day we will (sort of) know who was right, who was wrong, and who won (if there is such a thing).

The one thing we can be sure of knowing in the end is what went wrong along the way.
